Mrs. Stitches

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 12 pm — 5 pm; Saturday 10 am — 4 pm

I want to introduce you to PEABODY, that cute little duck who you see at the top of the menu, on my stationery, shop sign, etc., and tell you how he became my mascot. He was purchased from the gift shop in the Peabody Hotel during the American Needlepoint Guild seminar I was attending in October, 1996.

You see, The Peabody Hotel is famous for its mallards who enjoy a grand life swimming in a lovely turn-of-the-century marble fountain in the lobby. Each evening the Duckmeister escorts them to their penthouse apartment in the Hotel where they dine on cracked corn until morning when promptly at 11:00 am they are again escorted down the elevator to their fountain "pond."

It's a great life for a duck at The Peabody Hotel! This cute little fella is now residing at 6 Hilltop Road, and I will be telling you of his adventures as the years go by. Anyway, he's here and for sale as a three pound frame weight, or unweighted as an adorable stuffed critter.

I think some of you have had the opportunity to meet Susan already - she's in charge when I'm away.

Meet Vickie at the shop!
